Hi there, i just got my host company (Web.com) to set up my MySql. I have a db set up. do i now need to create a table for wordpress? If i do... how many fields does it need? my 2 required items are a 1. name and 2. fields.

No, you don't. WP will create its tables during the installation. Don't do anything in the db. Just have it and a user in it with all the privileges. That's all. The rest you can read in the documentation...
