Hi Guys
I am completely new to the forum and this is my first post
I am right at the end of creating a wordpress blog
http://www.venuscakes.com/blog
I have a folder called blog on the ftp in which all the wordpress files sit.
I have 'static' pages, my homepage and gallery
The current address of my home page is
http://www.venuscakes.com/blog/home
And the address of my gallery is
http://www.venuscakes.com/blog/gallery
I want to make the structure of my site as follows
home page
http://www.venuscakes.com
gallery
http://www.venuscakes.com/gallery
blog
http://www.venuscakes.com/blog
Is it better just to do a redirect or is it possible to change the address of the home page and gallery?

Thanks but I think that's not what I am getting at
I have all of my wordpress files in a folder called 'wordpress' on my ftp
My home page is a static page written in my wordpress blog so this page also has to sit in the 'wordpress' folder but that means that the homepage cannot be at the root of my directory
Anyway, the way I got round it is this
My homepage is http://www.venuscakes.com/blog/welcome. I have done a 301 redirect from venuscakes.com to this page
My gallery is venuscakes.com/blog/gallery. I have done a 301 redirect from http://www.venuscakes.com/gallery to this page
My blog is still at http://www.venuscakes.com/blog
I have limited experience so this may be a bit of a bodge
Anybody have any thoughts on this?
Also, will google still index my pages ok with this set up?
Cheers
Graham
