    They should work in any theme - unless you're putting the code someplace strange.

    Are you using any editor plugins ?

    just typed the code in where one might type body text. I suppose the text editor area. same place I "Add(ed) Media" (grey place holder)

    Try using the TEXT editor (and don't switch between editors - it messes up code ) - I just tested the theme on a test site and it works okay for me.

    correct, i'm using Scaffolding (with div=12) and i'm coding div spans 9 and 3. but instead the arrow (pic on my page) is showing up below my div 9 vs. next to
