    Hi everyone

Let's say my WordPress installation is inside a directory called "/blog/".
I have three categories : News, Shows, and General
I want the news to show up in news.php, etc

I tried the loop method that worked in 1.5 to no avail
How do I go about this?

Could you explain what you mean by "the loop method"? The loop is WordPress's system of displaying posts.

So you have WordPress installed in http://www.example.com/blog/, but you want http://www.example.com/news.php to show the news category, http://www.example.com/shows.php to show the shows category, etc.?

You should read this article on "Giving WordPress its own directory" and this one on category templates, try it out, and let us know what's not working for you.

    ---------------------------------

    the specifics:
running a band site @ thesexyrobots.net. wordpress is in the "blog_" directory. I want to use WP to be able to update the site.

Lets say I have a show. I want to post in WP under the shows category and have it show up in the shows.php template I created.
