I have a site hosted on HostGo, where they have "auto installs" of many fine programs, Word Press 2.0 being the one I installed.
The site is shmookie.com. The auto install feature only allows for the scripts to be installed to the root.
So Word Press was installed at shmookie.com/wordpress

I have a pointer domain, stevesimon.us that exists on shmookie.com;when visiters enter http://www.stevesimon.us in their browser they are sent to the stevesimon directory of shmookie.com, without them seeing any indication of shmookie.com, they see http://www.stevesimon.us.

I would like to have the Word Press Blog that has been auto installed at shmookie.com appear on the index page for the stevesimon.us directory page.

Can I have all of the files running Word Press 2.0 reside on shmookie.com and then have the script generate the visable blog page on stevesimon.us?

If the Word Press script can't publish the blog to become visable in the stevesimon.us directory, does anyone out here have a suggestion or two as to how I might accomplish this?

Could using frames allow me to import the blog's visable page into the new directory?
Might an rss feed allow for a solution?
I am certainly anxious to here if there is a simple answer to this?
    Thanks :)

    You have few options.

If you are using addon domains, I think you can point the domain to any directory of your choice, so you can make it point to wordpress. Atleast cPanel lets you do it.

Another option is do a manual install of wordpress by putting the files in stevesimon folder

yet another is to move the wordpress files into stevesimon, export the database .sql file using phpmyadmin, then find and replace all occurences of shmookie.com/wordpress with stevesimon.us, delete the tables in phpmyadmin and finally reimport the modified db.

    make a backup always.
