Hello,
I have some page titles that are things like "£50 MP3 Player", "32inch TV only £500" etc etc. I understand that the £ won't show in the permalinks - that's fine, but I do want to the to show when I echo $post_title into pages, lists, recent posts etc.
Any ideas?
You should be able to insert the pound sign in the title. When you insert it (just by copying and pasting it) make sure that you double check the permalinks. I had to add the TM symbol in the past to some of my post titles, and weird characters get inserted in the permalinks.

That's a "popular" problem lately. I've been seeing that people are using Cufon-based themes for their pretty fonts, and off-the-shelf Cufon often breaks pound and other symbols.
You could also try using this bit of code for your pound sign instead of pasting it from a word processor. It may work depending on your character set.
