displaying featured image in sidebar post

    when you show recent posts in the default layout sidebar:
    (see example on site http://davesheppardart.com) only the title shows, but not the “featured image”. Is there any way to show a thumbnail of the featured image for the post in the sidebar?
    I am wondering if it would be better to use some type of plug-in instead ?
    Any comments or advice would be most welcome.

    used the AK: Featured Post Sidebar Widget to solve the problem, worked easy as can be. thanks.
