   I need to show text on one post, but I don't want this text to show up if the post is on the main page, a category page, or any other page that might bring up the post. I need this text to show up on the single post view and that page only. Is this possible, if so - how?

   Could just hardcode the text into the actual template that is used to display your singe post view.

   Do you mean edit the single.php? How would I make the text only show on one particular post ID? Add an IF statement checking the postid?
