I want to display a few different posts on my home page, specific posts, to be called by ID. I am using these as different paragraphs and sections/features - set up as posts so that each individual paragraph can be edited easily by the person who maintains the site with little or no coding knowledge.

this seems like a simple thing to me, but i have had no luck finding a simple solution!

i had tried the plugin get-a-post but the plugin interfered with another plugin I am using (imm-glossary) so i can no longer use that.

I came across this option http://www.mydigitallife.info/2006/06/24/retrieve-and-get-wordpress-post-id-outside-the-loop-as-php-variable/
but it doesn't really make any sense to me. I'm not very knowledgable on PHP..

Can anybody explain to me how to do this in lamens terms??
as in what code do i use and where do i put it! :)

thanks heaps. This is for a client and i have been putting it off months actually as i am so confused.... :S
