Caching the feed locally, of course.

I thnk he means, showing the feed contents, not just providing a link. Am I right? That way you could integrate slashdot news in your sidebar or something like that.

On my old domain, I have a php script for doing this that you can easily call from your template. It does caching and everything ... feel free to copy :-)

Thanks jaykul. I'll be playing with that soon. Would it be possible for this script to combing together the individual items of each of these into one mass of feeds organized by date?

I used Feed2Js to catch the rss feed from a phpiCalendar/phpMyCal mod. I just entered the RSS address of my feed and Feed2JS spit out a few lines of Javascript that I put in the sidebar. It uses my sidebar stylesheet and works perfectly. I think it would work just as well for any RSS feed. There seems to be a lag between Calendar updates and sidebar updates, but I can live with that.
by the way, this is on the site LIRNEasia, not my personal site.

the problem with JS feed readers is that the content does not become a part of the page in a way that google wont read it. :) but ur requirements differ from mine! :)

I know of at least 2 WP plugin that handle RSS parsing.
They are both listed in the WP Wiki page: http://wiki.wordpress.org/Plugin
one is aggrss avaiable from http://soderlind.no/archives/2004/09/27/aggrss-an-rss-aggregator/
the other is CG-Feedread avaiable from http://www.chait.net/index.php?p=85
    hope that helps
    ciao
    Stefano
