Display "Read More" Link on Excerpts with Advanced Excerpt Plugin + Thematic (5 posts)

OK, I've been beating my head against the wall on this one.

I want every post displayed on my home/category/archive page to be displayed as an excerpt. To do this, I'm using the Advanced Excerpt Plugin and it seems to work pretty well. It gives you the option to customize the characters that display when a post is longer than a certain character length. It even seems to be able to display html in there.

My question is this: What would be the syntax that I could put in this replaceable text that would display a "Read More" kind of a link that would link to the full version (single page) of the post?

Anybody have any bright ideas and/or alternative ideas on how to do this? Keep in mind that I don't want to have to manually do it for each post AND I'm developing my theme using the Thematic framework (which seems to follow NONE of the predefined notions of how to organize things...)

PS - I've tried using <!--more--> to no avail...

Me, too. I can insert <!--more--> and nothing happens. Can anyone tell me how to configure the link from an excerpt to the full article?
    Thanks.

If you want this [..] to become an active link, use this plugin:
