I may not be clear in the first post. What I mean is I would like to link to random posts on my blog by displaying a widget or some sort of code on a website that does not have wordpress installed.

Just bumping this topic to see if anyone has any idea how to do this.

I have seen solution to display the latest post(s) on another site, e.g. with RSS feeds, but never seen a solution for remote displaying of random posts.

Yeah. I have been literally searching for months for something like this, but I haven’t found anything.

It seems that it will require some heavy programming.

I wrote a tutorial that may be able to help you.

I think you would just have to modify the code a little. Instead of using ‘localhost’ you’d have to use the IP Address of your database. And if it’s in a different domain you’d have to enable remote mysql access on your site that holds the database you are trying get your posts from.
