    Hi,

Is there a way to display posts based on a custom field query?
(ie all posts who have a custom field name "color" with value "red" )

    Thanks!

I'm not sure if you can use it, but it seems that this plugin has some features based on custom fields.

Thanks but I can't see how this plugin can help me.

Sorry, I've been playing around with category plugins recently and one also had options with custom fields, I thought it was the one I referred to, but that's not the one. I can't find the one I'm thinking about immediately though.

[edit] There seems to be plenty information on the internet. This guy seems to go in a direction you want.

Thanks gangleri, but again - this is not that. I've used google extensively to find an answer to this problem, but couldn't find anything.

In the link you provided there's an example on how to check for a custom field inside a post.

What I want is to run a query to display all the posts that contains a specific value in a specific custom field

It can't be difficult if you know a little PHP (which I don't).
A guy I know did something on his website that I think is what you mean. He used custom fields like we now use categories and tags, because they were not built into WordPress back then. If you take a random post, the band and label name you can see on the right sidebar, are made with custom fields. I (fortunately) never had to try to make that myself, since nowadays we have categories and tags for this. Perhaps hovering over the links might give you inspiration. Perhaps this Codex article. If that's still not it, I better withdraw from this thread :-)

The codex article is excellent, I don't know how I didn't found it myself.
Many thanks! I'll post here after I'm sure it's what I need

    Thanks again.
