   Hi,

   I'm new to wordpress and I'm struggling with an idea.

   I want to be able to create pages within wordpress that:-

   1. Have editable content.
   2. Include after that content a display of all posts from a given catagory (or set of catagories).

   For instance I might have the following catagories:-

   IT-NEWS
   FINANCIAL-NEWS

   I want to create a page called IT and another page called FINANCIAL.

   Each page will display it's content (editable) followed by all the posts of the relevant catagory.

   I have been thinking that I could achieve this with a page template. The template would render the page content followed by a list of posts from a set of catagories hard coded into the template.

   Is this the right approach?
   Are there any sample templates that already do this?

   In all other respects I want these pages to look like any other page.

   Well, you can do this easily (for the post lists) with Category Templates, especially the customized versions described there. That would do it.

   If you are SET on having these listed on a Page, then check out Creating an Archive Index or this tip for improving your archives Page.

   I also recommend you check out the Customizable Post Listings WordPress Plugin to help you create lists of posts limited to a specific category.

   That's never a good idea. Posts are posts and Pages are Pages. Don't mix them ever! So, no, it is not the right approach...
