Lets say you have 5 different categories. You want to write in all of them, but you only want 1 of them to be main page news. Is there a way to say all the posts in this one category are main page news at yourname.com? While the other 4 can only be seen in their respective categories?

There is too much stuff to weed through, a couple of different hacks...some are outdated. Which one is good and up to date?

is ok.
But I would rather one, that let me decide on a post by post basis. This one locks out everything from a cat being front page news...which I know is what I asked for. But now that I think about it, a post by post would be nicer :-)
