Display one page per day and category (5 posts)

    Hi.

I'm looking for a way to display all posts published in a category on a certain date on one page. When clicking on a category, WordPress would show all posts published the last day a post was added in that category. Clicking the "previous"-button should refer to the page showing all posts added the previous day and so on. Simply limiting the number of posts displayed doesn't help since the number of posts varies.

Rather than just paging through previous days the script would have to check first, if any posts have been added the previous day, and skip "empty" days. Maybe there's a way to solve the problem with a link to the archive. Not sure what the first link in the navigation pointing there would look like though.

I'm quite new to wordpress so any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    This plugin will do that.

Here's the CQS setting on test blog to do what you want:

    Current Conditions
    Condition Result
is_category Show 1 days per page, ordered by date DESC

Sounds good, but it doesn't seem to work. I installed the plugin, added the above condition, but WordPress only displays 1 post per page. Maximum posts to be displayed is set to 15, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Guess I'll have to ask the author of that plugin. Thanks anyway.

Well, according to the author unfortunately that option doesn't work with newer versions of wordpress. Any other suggestions?

Well, that sadly, seems to be true. Any other suggestions--I don't know of a plugin for that...
