   I am a newbie and am looking for some assistance.

   I need to resolve two scenarios

   1. I have 15 categories on a site I am working on. I wish to display one article per category on the homepage. The article would be an excerpt. Under the article, I need to list 2 links to other articles in the same category....
   something likethis

   Article I
   This is my lead article in this category.
   Link to article 2
   Link to Article 3
   More News in this category (link).

   2. I also need to implement the same structure on another page but this time for each author, not category. So one exceprt plus 2 links for each author.

   You can fulfill your requirement with query_post template of wordpress..
