Display of Categories of albums

    Starting a new thread as the other thread was getting a bit off topic from the folder structure.

    What I’m looking to do is on my Multi-site a landing page that has categories so for example

    a page that has the highest category possible What I mean by that is the follow.

    CATEGORY PAGE
    Would have a list of available categores of albums any one category could have a up to 100 albums inside of that particular category.

    Numbered Units (Category name)
    Short description and a count of the number of “albums” within that category

    Named Units (Category Name)
    Short Description and a count of the number of “albums” within that category

    etc.

    Each of these would show some thumbnail from within any of the albums (preferably select able)
    To better show this Here is a screenshot of what I want to do from the category page.
    Here is what I’m looking for from an organization stand point

    Page 2 would just show the albums within that category you selected from Page 1. So in this example only showing albums for Numbered units. This page would show XX number of albums (pagenated) for all of the albums in that “Category”

    Page 3
    i’ve now clicked on one of the albums and it brings me to all of the pictures within that album( Similar to the page ive built here)

    So I think I understand how to get to page 3 but I don’t want to display other albums in page 3 just the photos within the album I’ve chosen.

    I’ve set this up by using Empty Albums as a parent album but I’m not sure if that is the right way to go here OR if I should be using the native wordpress pages/categories to do this?

    Sorry, but i can not completely tell you how to design/setup your site.
    You are free to ask me detailed questions like ‘is it possible to…’ and ‘how to …’ and ‘where do i find documentation about…’.

    To show categories: here is a fragment from the changelog of version 5.2.4:

    Albums can have multiple categories assigned to.
    Works exactly like tags on photos with the exception that only one category can be used in a shortcode and both covers and photos can be selected this way.
    Example 1: [wppa type=”cover” album=”#cat,Animals”][/wppa] for a list of album covers that have the category Animals.
    Example 2: [wppa type=”album” album=”#cat,Birds”][/wppa] for a single display of thumbnails of photos in albums in category Birds.

    How do you delete categories? I can add then just fine but removing them is an issue. When I clear out the text in that field the “auto save” you have doesn’t pick up a change.

    Isn’t there a save button for the general album admin? I have it showing for the descriptions and what not.

    If someone wants to remove the category I don’t see a way for that to be possible.

    Type something extra in the edit field, click outside the edit field, backspace all away in the edit field and click outside the edit field again.

    OR:

    De-activate, delete and re-install ( a fresh copy of ) the plugin, i made a patch, but did not bump the version number.
    and just empty the field.
