Display issues withing excerpts on homepage

Hello,

since I wasn’t able to locate anything using the search I decided to finally open a new topic…

I do have some issues with some characters not being displayed correctly in the excerpts on the homepage. For example the “em dash” or double blank spaces are replaced by weird character combinations like “—” or something. This is only the case on the homepage. When being in single post view everything is displayed as supposed.

Another (maybe same or similar cause) is the formatting of line breaks. In some cases line breaks are not displayed on the homepage but it is the case when being in single post view.

My site can be found here and a good example to replicate the issues are the quote from “Arthur O’Shaughnessy” from December 22nd and in comparison the short “Reflection” post from the 29th.

Not sure if I’m the only one having these problems and if they may be caused by one of the plugins or something. The issue occurs regardless of the browser and the OS used.
