Display Grid and List view on template rather than shortcode.

I am trying to set up the ability to display results in list view or grid view through a selector on the results page. The plugin has both views but just through shortcode, does anyone know how to set the results to show the list & grid view through code on the template rather than shortcode so I can toggle between the two result views?
