Display footer widgets in 404 page (2 posts)

I'm using a child theme of Twenty Eleven, and I can't display the widgets.

I've removed the static widgets that are placed in the default 404 template. I would like to have the 3 widgets in the footer that are defined in the Widget area 1, widget area 2, and widget area 3.

I've read this topic but the discussion was mixed up with the sidebar, so I get a little confused.

    link to the 404 page.

Create a copy of footer.php in your child theme. In your child theme's new file, remove the if ( ! is_404() ) code that appears just before get_sidebar( 'footer' );.

Hope this helps. Sorry for that late reply!
