    Hello,

I have a would-be-great idea, but honestly I do not know if it could be feasable with wordpress, or if it would require a totally different "engine" to run it.

Imagine your blog's main entry page doesn't contain only 1 space for blog posts, but 4 different spaces. Let's say two squares or 400x400 on a first line, two other squatres of 400x400 on a second line.
Around those 2x2 squares : a header, a footer, and a left sidebar.

Graphically, it would be ordered like this :

And as soon as you open a blog note or a category (single.php and categories.php) the blog once again works like the usual wordpress blog.

It would mean editing only index.php.

Honestly, do you think my idea is possible to apply with a bit of work ?
It would allow to accomplish something nice and agreable for the eyes for certain projects, I think.

Or isn't wordpress made to accomplish that kind of thing ?

I'm curious to hear what you think of it, thanks a lot if you reply ;-)

It's possible - and you should be able to accomplish it with a theme so that it would be easy to implement once you have written the code.

I'm not a coder - but I would think you need four div sections and a modified loop - maybe even a loop for each div that filters on category.

It sounds like you are looking to use WordPress as a CMS - google that for what others are doing -- (moderator, slap me if what I'm about to say isn't allowed) you might want to look at joomla over wordpress to accomplish what you are looking for.

Well, I considered the choice between joomla OR wordpress, but joomla WITH wordpress is something new to me, that I will have to take into consideration indeed, Dalebert...

I'm still new to "almost pro" webmastering, and CMS was just an unknown acronym just a short time ago, I didn't think of googling the word for my case...

Thanks, I'll try that to see how things can be worked out :)
