i have a client who simply wants to maintain a database of products and display it online. there will be fewer than 10 columns. the left most columns will contain photos; the other columns will contain words and numbers. the user does not need to interact with it, just be able to search it. my client will need to update prices weekly and then just make the database available online. surely wordpress has an easy way to do this. basically all we will be doing is filling out a database and displaying it.

Hi,
Did you find a solution for this ? I have the same situation - wondering whether to write something, or if something already exists !
Thanks
Emma
You could check out Filemaker Pro -- it's set up for exactly this kind of thing. I've never used the Web Publishing features, but FMP in and of itself is a GREAT product in my experience. They have a free trial period, so you could see if it will work for you.
You can also always use a table created in HTML -- but that can be fairly tedious to update when there is new/changed data.
