Disabling Comments/Discussion not working Magazine Basic Template

Can anyone help me? I just finished making a blog using the latest version of magazine basic theme. I want my blog appear as a website
I just want to remove the comments box below all articles. With previous versions, this was so easy, I just had to uncheck the third option on discussion that says “Allow people to post comments on new articles, but with this new version it doesn’t work.
What can I do? thanks a lot
