Disabling certain categories from appearing in pretty permalinks (3 posts)

    Hi.

I have a blog with a few categories. One is a fairly generic "Reviews" category. The second category is a more specific, (say if I was reviewing video games, it'd be the console, such as "xbox 360", "ps3", "wii" etc).

With wordpress, if I add, say, something to both the xbox 360 and reviews category, sometimes the permalink will be mydomain.com/xbox360/game/ and sometimes of the time the permalink will be mydomain.com/reviews/game. Is there a way to prevent one category appearing in permalinks?

    Thanks

The category with the lowest ID number will appear in the permalinks. I'm not sure, but maybe it also matters which category is assigned first when the post is saved.

Hmmmm.....seems a bit of an odd one that, it'd be great if you could disable categories from that.

Just tested it a few times, and one which I have noticed that if you set a category and publish it, then add it to a new category and save the post, it changes the permalink. This has all sorts of ramifications from an SEO perspective, and not particularly helpful!
