[resolved] Disable Open Graph - not possible! (4 posts)

    Hi,

    somehow I can't disable Jetpack's open graph tags (version 2.9.3 is installed). I tried it by all means. I added this code both in the theme's function.php as well as in a MU plugin file:

    add_filter( 'jetpack_enable_opengraph', '__return_false' );
    add_filter( 'jetpack_enable_open_graph', '__return_false' );
    remove_action( 'wp_head', 'jetpack_og_tags' );

    I guess the code that executes the tag generation might be executed before this code, which takes the possibility to inhibit the tags. What else can I do? It's all I found on the web...

    By the way: I have Ultimate SEO installed, Jetpack somehow ignores that although it should take that into account (as i read)...

    Thanks

    Well please disable this feature or offer a module which can be turned on and off. I tried everything to disable these stupid tags, nothing works!!!

    Hi!

    The correct code is:

    add_filter( 'jetpack_enable_open_graph', '__return_false' );

    As for SEO Ultimate, that's right, we do detect it and deactivate Jetpack's OG tags here:

    https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack/blob/f25d2f5f19444772dd63824bc0e57293d5816c51/class.jetpack.php#L137

    So I suspect something is different about your site? Could you post your site URL here, so I can have a look?

    Hello Richard,

    thank you very much for your reply and your effort!
    To be honest it was a stupid mistake of mine. The detection of other SEO tools works good, I'm very sorry!
    But manual control over the generation of the tags would be fine anyway.

    All the best
