I have been to "Settings => Discussion" and deselected "Allow people to post comments on new articles" and I have created a page called "Index" where I have been to "Screen Options" turned on the "Discussion" options and deselected "Allow comments.". I have added a page with these settings as "Administrator" and added [sorttablepost] to produce an index using the "sorttable-post" plugin. I even logged out and logged in as a subscriber and still that blasted "Leave a Reply" comment box will not go. I only want rid of it on the one page, please help its been 3 hours now and I'm about to quit.

Have you tried:
- deactivating all other plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
- switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
- resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
- re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.
