• I would appreciate any help here (currently using wp 2.9):

how can I disactivate the links that I set (for lighbox functionality) for all my images in a post when these images are shown on the index blog page?

I believe I’m looking for a hack or function to tell WP not to render the <a href="...">-tag around the <img>-tag when an image is displayed outside its post.

Not sure if I have to get any clearer? Here’s an extended version of my problem:
In order to use lightbox 2 I do add to every image added to a post an URL that links to the image’s own location. I use the “more” tag right after the first image of each post to have only one image per post on the blogs index page. So far, so good, but…

Now, on the blog’s index page I don’t want clickable images, no lightbox zoom effect, just the pure’n’naked image and the “click for more…” link underneath.
Turning of lightbox for the index page (easily done in lightbox’s settings) unfortunately doesn’t take away the link itself, but eliminates only the lightbox zoom effect (wich is desired that it’s gone, as i will explain later).

Of course there would be one easy way out, but deleting the URL of each first image of a post isn’t a solution: on the single article’s page this first image becomes only one of a series of other zoomable [gallery] images of the post. I need it to stay that way!

Actually, the reason why I need a solution for this problem is the unfamouse Internet Explorer 6 and 7 error that occurs when using lighbox: these browsers break the loading process (but only) of the index page and output an error like “internet connection failed”. Disactivating lightbox here on index helps, but now the images are still linked to themselves, thus open when clicked in the same window. Very ugly, that one!

check it out: http://www.nikoslagousakos.com/cms/ and go to “projects” (where i shifted the blogs index to).

Please, if anyone knows how to solve this issue he or she will have my warmest everlasting thank you!

    mat
