Disable gravatar or get it to behave within CSS (2 posts)

I have a stripped down layout that looks fine, until I leave a (test) comment. Suddenly I get a stupid "avatar" floating outside the layout on the left side of the screen.

The source reveals it's somehow coming from http://www.gravatar.com. This may be a great service, but I'm not interested! I don't want to rely on third parties in my site.

How can I turn this crap off or at least force it to show up with the comment. I'm lost in all the div's.

FYI, Gravatar.com was made by the creators of WordPress.

To turn avatars off, simply go to Settings->Discussion

Scroll down to the bottom of the page where it says Avatars, and click on the option for Don’t show Avatars.
