[resolved] Disable CSS and JS, what to do? (4 posts)

Hi, I want to use the sharebar inside Jetpack, but I want to be able to edit my own CSS for it. As far as I trie now that's not possible, I can only edit the original sharing.css which is no good because it will dissapeare with future updates.

    There is a warning:

Advanced. If this option is checked, you must include these files in your theme manually for the sharing links to work.

    1) can I copy and paste the css from sharing.ccs into my own css?
    2) where can I find the JS to include?

    Kind regards,

    Willem

You can indeed use the Advanced CSS and JS setting to remove all sharing CSS and JS from the plugin. You can then load your own instead.

You could copy the contents of the original files (under modules/shareaddy/), but if you just want to customize the look of the sharing buttons, you could add your own CSS on top of the existing CSS files.

You can overwrite the existing CSS by being more specific in your CSS. You can read more about CSS specificity here:

    Hi Jeremy,

Thanks for your link about being more specific with CSS.
    It's all good now :-).

Other modules of jetpack uses Quantcast tracking, is this module free of quantcast also for the future?

    Kind regards,

    Willem

Quantcast is only included in Stats, and if we were to add Quantcast to other modules, we would mention it on the Plugin page, so no worries there!
