Disable Author Archives

    Hi All

    Yoast recommends disabling date archives in his settings because of possible duplicate content issues. I did that and am getting hundreds of 404 errors on links to my date archives. These links are on every post by default where the author and date of publication are clickable links.

    I have tried re enabling the date based archives in Yoast but clicking on a date still gives a 404 error. I also enabled noindexs/follow on the date based archives.

    So firstly is there a possible duplicate content issue here?
    Secondly, why does clicking on the date still give me a 404?

    Have you got a cache plugin ? You need to clean cache to test – you may desactivate WP SEO to verify there is no problem.
