Youll need to edit some template files like index.php, page.php, single.php. All files that are including sidebar.php. Can you post your index.php code?
I have never used imageshack.us so don’t know if they are a hosting services provider, or what, but I have seen that picture before on a WordPress site. The site was hacked and that picture was inserted into the background.
What is your site URL?
Have you tried just adding a blank text widget to your sidebar?
