I installed wordpress and it installed itself in websiteroot/wordpress.
I can't access that directory with file manager on Dotster. My first created blog landed in the directory with wordpress instead of the root directory. I changed the setting to put the blog in the root directory and now it is inaccessable to see the site in iexplorer. How do I get my home page into the root directory?
Just created another comment or blog and it went to the wordpress directory. Why would wordpress default to putting my website in the wordpress directory. Not easy to use so far.

Why would wordpress default to putting my website in the wordpress directory.

well wordpress can't install itself anywhere
either you manually installed it or you used a script by your web host
    so your blog is here
    http://jcapps.net/wordpress/
    you have 2 choices
un-install it with web host's script and install it again - being careful to specify root
    or move it manually

WordPress is in the correct directory but it put my website in the same directory. I want my website in the root directory. I could probably just move the files but I can't access the directory. In fact the wordpress directory doesn't even exist according to my host, Dotster.

jcapps.net is hosted by Dotster Hosting. Neither the wordpress or the website is being hosted by dotster.

What a mess! Please tell me how to get rid of wordpress and the website. Nothing can be done through Dotster as it shows no site or wordpress exists.

I used the script on Dotster to install wordpress and there were no choices of any kind.

We could use a little information. You state that "Neither the wordpress or the website is being hosted by dotster." then where is it?

As Samual sid WordPress does not install itself. The script you use may have some defaults of its own but that then is not a WordPress issue.
