• Greetings all,

Forgive the, no doubt, simple question, but I am clearly setting up something incorrectly with my new e-store using woocommerce.

I am trying to sell a digital copy of a textbook/manual, and I have them all listed, with PayPal as my main payment method and digital download as the method or category of item. I am receiving payment, however the individuals are receiving the download link, that is a dead link. I first tried to allow guest to buy these digital downloads and I would receive payment, but they would receive no link. I then changed it to only allow registered members to purchase, and once again, payment accepted and the link now shows up in their account page, however the link is essentially dead link.

I have followed the tutorial located here, which seems very straight forward, however I am still not having any luck actually delivering my product download link…..and I have their money so this is rather crucial that I fix this issue asap.

Thanks in advance for any help you are able to provide on this topic. Have a great day.

    Kevin

  • I started having the same issue today… My links worked fine but any products I’ve added today have had dead links instead, very weird.
I would zip the file and ftp it to your server then email that link to your customers until you get this resolved.
When it works right it’s really nice 🙂

I just figured out what is going on with mine; While in the edit>product section when I add a file for download I have to manually click the ‘file URL’ button in the media prompt.
Seems to have fixed my issue.

If that doesn’t work for you, try the other option ‘attachment URL’ or whatever it is.
