    i want to set different positions for the content in each template in the theme.
    here is a sample layout 1
    http://www.small2big.in/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/sample-1.png

    and here is sample layout 2
    http://www.small2big.in/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/sample-2.png

    the red hairline rectangle would be the content area.
    the menu item in white would be the active menu item.

    as you can see, i want the content to the right of the active menu item. the question is, how do i achieve that?
    please help me with the same. thank you!

    I think your query would be best answered in forums specialising in HTML, CSS and jQuery, unless you're asking for a specific theme.

    Got It!
    inserting "n" "inline" classes in a container can help you get "n" different inline divs. the place where you can do it in the wordpress code is:

    <div class="layout-wrapper">
        <div class="content-layout">
            <div class="content-layout-row">
                <div class="layout-cell content">

    	       <strong><div class="inline"></strong>
    			<?php get_sidebar('top'); ?>
    			<?php
    				if(have_posts()) {

    					/* Start the Loop */
    					while (have_posts()) {
    						the_post();
