Different Looks of WP Entries RSS (8 posts)

    Hi,

Please advise what are the differences of these WP Entries RSS:

    http://www."domain1".com/wordpress/index.php/feed/
    http://www."domain1".com/wordpress2/wp-rss2.php

    http://www."domain2".com/wordpress/?feed=rss2

Are they just due to different versions of WP? Or there is some installation errors?

    Many thanks,
    Kevin Chin

Since we can't see your feeds, you tell us. Are there any differences between the three or are they the same feed called differently?

    Hi,

They are three different WordPress installations. Two on the first server, and the third one on the second server.

    /index.php/feed/
    /wp-rss2.php
    /?feed=rss2

are just copied from "WordPress Entries RSS" from the footer of these WordPress installations.

  4. /wp-rss2.php would be the feed from a WordPress blog which does not have permalinks enabled and originated in the v1.2.x era.

/?feed=rss2 would be the feed from a WordPress blog which does not have permalinks enabled and originated in the v1.5.x era.

/index.php/feed/ would be the feed from a WordPress blog which has work-around permalinks enabled and originated in the v1.5.x era.

And all three are the same output, just different ways to access wp-rss2.php

  6. Exactly. Sorry that I forgot to mention that.

Cool. So they are all valid RSS feeds, right?

Now you have raised another question of mine - permalinks.

How should I enable all of them in these blogs? Up to this stage, I am referring the URI (or URL?) of the title of each post as permalink. For example: http://www."domain2".com/wordpress/?p=283

    Many thanks in advance.

  8. Go to Options/Permalinks and read the instructions there. If you still need more help, see: http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks
