    Hi,
I have just a website to a new host. I installed everything ok, however I updated the theme after installing and it is only visible when I am logged in as admin.
When I am logged out as a normal user, it shows completely different css theme on the home page, but when I click on any link on the home page, it correctly goes to the new page with the new css.
Its the first time I have set up a pre existing wordpress site. What might I be doing wrong??

    Thanks

  • What theme are you using? Where did you download it from?

I’m using CTR theme, v1.3.6. Do you think the problem is related to the theme?

Oh, sorry, must have double clicked the post button first time then.

Are there any reasons why only on the home page, the css could be different when I am logged in?

I didn’t download a new theme, It was set up by the previous owner.

Here is an example of what I mean:

    http://llpayroll.com

    http://llpayroll.com/glass-of-red-wine/

When I am logged in as admin, they are both the same theme.

Assuming that you are using this theme, we cannot help you here. We do not support commercial themes – only those downloaded from wordpress.org.

I think the problem is irrelevant of the theme, Imagine I’m using a wordpress.org theme. Is this possible to happen with wordpress.org themes also? Are there any settings I need to change in the wordpress php files?

When I browse the site directory on my hosting cpanel, I can’t open index.php.

‘The page you are looking for might have been removed,
had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.’

It seems this might be related to the problem?

Is this possible to happen with wordpress.org themes also?

    Not that I know of.

Are there any settings I need to change in the wordpress php files?

    No.

What happens if you switch to the default 2012 theme?

Ok, but index.php should be the home page of the website right?

I have changed the nameservers of the domain and redirected it to the wordpress subdirectory on my hosting space. However when I manually navigate to index.php, it says it isn’t found.

Where is the page that the root domain is showing, if it isn’t index.php?

    I just fixed this,
For anyone else: I originally thought it was a cache problem so I cleared my browser cache, but it didn’t work.
However I noticed that the website was using wpSupercache plugin, so I disabled that and deleted the wpcontent/cache/supercache folder, and now its fine.
