Desperate for import help! (2 posts)

I am attempting to import an xml file from my friends blog.
Here’s the thing, first her blog was on blogger, than we ‘transferred’ the files to WordPress. I am trying to make some changes to her blog, but first I test everything on my test WP blog.

The file is 47.5kb and it won’t upload into my site, I’m even running the same template.
She’s hosted on Gator, but I installed WP from a download from this site.
I’m on GoDaddy, install was also downloaded from this site.
Both our sites have updated WP. I do all the site work for both sites, all CSS editing, install, up keep has been done by me.

Each time I try to import the xml file I get this error:
    The connection was reset
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.
    * The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
    * If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
    connection.
    * If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

I’ve imported many times on many sites, but never a file this large.

I now have my laptop connected directly to the internet (no router) and the file still won’t import.

What else can I do? Can I FTP the file? How? Where? Help.
