Desk Mess theme | page tabs missing (7 posts)

Overnight the page tabs disappeared, leaving only the barely visible text. (Home, About me, etc.)

I tried changing it to a Desk Mess child theme which was basically the same and the tabs reappeared only to disappear again.

Now I have an update notice for Desk Mess Mirrored which says:
    Desk Mess Mirrored
You have version 1.8.7 installed. Update to 1.8.7.1.

Can anyone tell me if this will fix the page tab problem?
Also, the meaning of "Any customizations you have made to theme files will be lost." I have not changed anything on the editing/html page. But I don't want to risk messing up my site.

    Appreciate some help. Thanks.

Your navigation html doesn't match with the stylesheet.

I think you can try to create a custom menu under appearance and assign it to a location. Or, try to match your navigation html with the style sheet.

Thanks for responding to my problem nisaiy. However, I'm not html savvy and don't have a clue as to how to match my nav html with my style sheet.

Why would this problem occur without my ever messing with the html anyway?

I may try to create the menu as you suggested though. Thanks.

Version 1.8.7.1 is a reversion to version 1.8.6.1 ... problems with the menu sticky notes should be corrected; or, if they still exist are inherited from any issues with version 1.8.6.1

Version 1.9 is in the Theme Review queue and addresses a few additional menu-related issues as well.

Version 1.9 is live in the repository now, please feel free to let me know if you are still experiencing issues.

Things seem ok now. I haven't updated version 1.9 yet. Kinda hate to mess with it if it isn't broken. :)

There are several different updates in version 1.9, you may not have need or even see them take effect but it is almost always recommended to stay current.

Feel free to let me know if you have any issues once you decide to update, I would be happy to read the feedback.
