[resolved] Description Boxes Only Popping 1/2 Way Up in Widget Mode (5 posts)

    In Widget Mode, for "Hide description box, it will pop up when a mouse hovers over the slide" I set it to "Yes." But the description boxes only pop up 1/2 way, leaving the bottom half of the slide title out of view.
    See http://cn.profparks.com/, upper right column, 英语学习的机会 Learning Opportunities.
    It doesn't seem to matter what height I assign to the description boxes (at present 90) or to the slideshow (at present 150).

    Suggestions?

    On line 125 throguh 129 of your theme's stylesheet, you have the following CSS:

    #sidebar ul li ul, #sidebar ul li div{
    	margin-bottom: 5px;
    	padding: 10px;
    	color: #222;
    }

    The 'bottom margin' and 'padding' affect the slideshow since all 'div' elements are declared to have those values. This causes the descriptions to fall off of the widget.

    You could solve this by making these declarations less specific to the 'div' elements. For instance, you could encapsulate these declarations in CSS classes.

    Hhmmm! Sorry, but I don't really speak CSS, so I don't understand "encapsulate" or "classes" in this context. But nice try!

    I'm sorry, I should've kept it simple. If you're not really used to doing CSS (as you mentioned in a different thread), there's probably no simple way to fix it. The easiest thing you can do, is adapt the aformentioned lines so that the look like the following. Although be warned, some other widgets might not look the way they used to anymore:

    #sidebar ul li ul, #sidebar ul li {
    	margin-bottom: 5px;
    	padding: 10px;
    	color: #222;
    }

    I'll have fun trying.
    Thanks for the code!
