    Hi,

in which file do I find wp-comments-post.php or wp-trackback.php to delete it?

    Thanks

  2. Those files are located in the root directory of your WordPress installation. Out of curiosity, why do you want to delete them?

  3. You can just disabled both comments and trackbacks if you want you know, rather than deleting the files. ;)

If you don't delete the files you may still get spammers posting through them, and while the comments won't appear not everyone wants their database getting clogged up with them.

  5. Umm, WTF are you talking about? If you disable comments on that post, WordPress won't accecpt comments for that post. Period.

    Trust me.

    Hi,

thank you very much for the advice, especially how to disable the comment function. I had more than 10000 comments from spammers and whatever I tried I couldn't stop them to fill up my mailbox with hundreds of spammail daily. I have been disabling now future and past comments with SQL and hope it will work

I am not sure what the effect will be when I disable trackback and pings for showing up in RSS directories. Where would I find information about that?

Best wishes to all of you for 2006,
and thansks very much for the appreciated help
