    I've been way too lax for my page for 3-4 months. I have thousands of spam comments. I assume there is a php file or txt file I can edit to remove them? I hope there is anyways.

    Or am I doomed to pay the price of poor management?

    You can delete large numbers of comments at once:

    • Go to Admin->Comments
    • Click on 'Screen Options' at the top right
    • Enter 999 in the box next to 'Comments'
    • Click 'Apply'

    Now you can delete a screenful at a time by checking the box next to Author in the title bar, selecting 'Move to trash' in the 'Bulk Actions' dropdown, and clicking 'Apply'.

    On some systems, 999 may be too many, so you may need to experiment to find the right number.

    Then you can delete them from Trash the same way.

    To whom
    The above process does work for deleting comments. However I can only do 95 at a time. I get a "URL too long message."

    Isn't there a file I could just delete and start over and be more sensible about it?

    Thanks
    Sam
