[resolved] Deleting adsense.php file doesn't actually delete the ad - help! (3 posts)

I've just acquired a website from someone and it appears that they have Adsense built into the theme itself. (I've searched all inside of my WP dashboard and have not been able to locate anything adsense related except for the plugin I just installed.)

I found 7 adsense.php files in File Manager (inside the themes folder) and tried deleting one to see if it would delete the ad on the website, but it turned the ad block into error text saying: "failed to open stream."

Can someone please help me figure out how to get rid of these ads and the error messages they produce when I delete the adsense.php files??

    Thank you so much,
    Emily

Put adsense.php back where it was but leave it blank. Try that.
