Deleting a post with a picture leaves the picture in Media

    I notice that when I delete a post with a picture that the picture remains in the library as “unattached.”

    Is that normal?

    Is there a way to have such pictures automatically deleted?

    I don’t think I will be deleting posts very often, but was just wondering.

    You can find unattached images at

    /wp-admin/upload.php?detached=1

    You can select them all and delete permanently through the bulk actions drop down.

    Hi, Ravi.

    I did notice that, but I have other unattached images as well, such as the header image and email notifications image used in Subscribe2.

    I could probably manually manage them one-by-one though.

    Yes, you can remove them if want.

    Thanks, everybody. I guess there is no setting to “remove attachments when removing a post” then. I’ll mark this resolved.
