Deleted Users

I have a page that is supposed to show the current bloggers. I had downloaded another plugin to create custom user roles, and it appears to be working with this plugin on one of my pages but not the current bloggers page. I tried to remedy this by deleting the inactive users rather than changing their roles, but they are still showing up when role=author even though no posts are attributed to them and they are no longer part of the user list. I assume this has something to do with the cache, but are there any suggestions?
