• Hello and thanks to anyone who can help with this as my blog is 100% not working now.
    Here is what happened…..
Recently I deleted all the files in the root folder to set up a new instillation of Drupal, this also required me to set up a new Mysql database
My WordPress blog is hosted in a subdirectory and I did not touch the files there, the files are still all (I think all) showing as being in the subdirectory.
The problem is after I deleted the files in the root folder the WordPress blog just stopped working.
As all the files are still there and represent months and months of work I would really like to
    1) get the blog working again
    (and /or)
    2) Save the work so it is not all lost
Once again thanks for any help

  • If you have wordpress installed in a subdirectory you should be able to browse to yourdomain.com/your_subdirectory_name_with_wordpress and see your blog.

If you delete the database tables you will need to restore those tables. If you did delete the tables, and you don’t have a backup, see if your host has a backup.

Let me rephrase as I used the wrong terms in my last post for some reason.

What I meant to say was I hot the wordpress blog in a sub domain (wordpress.mydomain.com) and I deleted all the files in the root domain directory but for some reason the blog in the sub domain went dead.

All the files are still there in the sub domain and never had anything to do with the root domain so this is why I don’t understand why the blog stopped working.

I also didn’t do anything to the DB associated with the wordpress blog. I did add a new DB to the Mysql but that was it.

Any help to point me in the right direction to solve this problem would be much appreciated

Then sounds like a call to your host is in order.
