I deleted a page, and it's gone from the 'Edit Page' list at wp-admin/edit-pages.php.
However, it still appears when I go the the the actual page at:
site.com/customparent/pagename
Note that the page did not use 'Main Page (no parent)' as the parent. If that makes a difference..
I also can't recreate the page with the same url, since it appends '-2' to the url, like
site.com/customparent/pagename-2
How do I get rid of this page properly?

I am having the same problem, and it's happened twice now. I wish someone would answer this.
Don't forget to check the Trash. When a post or page is deleted, it is placed in the "Trash" where it is removed from view and held for thirty days. When viewing the list of pages from the admin panel, near the top you will find links to view "Published", "Drafts", and "Trash". Click on "Trash" and either check the specific page and permanently delete it or hit the "Empty Trash" button.
