Deleted images from media library still showing up in posts?

    How come when I delete an image from the library they still show up in posts? How do I get the images I deleted from the media library not to show up in posts without having to go to each individual post and delete?

    Inserted images are output with code in the content area for posts and pages. You have to remove that code or it may show cached content for a while, then eventually a broken image symbol.

    For image galleries, you can delete unwanted images from the media library and they will also be automatically removed from whatever gallery(‘s) they are in.
