• I’m in process of upgrading from 2.9.2 to WP3 Beta2. I misunderstood the instructions and deleted the sites wp-admin & wp-includes folders in the ftp on the server. Just the content left but i started deleting the content folder first and realized half way through (was using ftp that time!), closed the ftp program half way through.. thought it might have cancelled everything. Then went in cPanel everything seemed to be still there but then disappeared on refresh after a while couldn’t download any of it with my trys.

I have a full up to date back up of the mySQL database . Ive made a mess can i contact the host and retrieve the lost folders? What else could i do to get out of this mess? site won’t load. I’ve been able to save all the plugins and the config.php file. But all my uploads and theme i can not find. But could get iNove easy enough.

This is bizarre. Located the uploads folder and includes, content, etc in cPanel but they don’t show in ftp. Zipped up the uploads and downloading them. I’ve uploaded a the WordPress folder how do you go about activating it or whats next?

I’ve moved my uploads folder and plugins folder into it on the root and added the old theme etc. The old install folder was named blog now there is a wordpress folder there what do you do to make the site work?

    Getting this error at site.

Warning: require(/home/invest/public_html/blog/wp-includes/compat.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/invest/public_html/blog/wp-settings.php on line 265

Put everything under the wordpress folder into the old blog location.

I did this by renaming the wordpress folder to blog and not getting any joy yet. I wish somebody could log into my ftp and see what this is. Fresh eyes will probable find where i done wrong quick.

    Thanks for the reply.

You should be able to download a copy of WordPress 30 to your desktop, unzip it, and copy UP just the wp-admin and wp-includes folders.

Went back to 2.9.2 and not upgrading if it makes this mess and no one can log in to ftp to help. Will wait for the official release and try an auto upgrade.
