• Hi all,

I was trying to clear up some old themes I will never use. I had about 7 called ‘Freshy 2’ and then it seemed to delete my current active one ‘Hyperspace’ – anyway….. can get it back? Will it be in my wordpress backup or is that just content?

I put a lot of custom work on the layout so would love to have it back!

Thanks for any help in advance – yes I’m a noob! 🙂
    Chris

  • If you have a backup of your wp-content folder somewhere, all your themes should be there in your “themes” (not theme’s) folder.

If you are using a backup plugin and do not know whether the theme is backed up, I suspect that you are using a backup plugin which only backs up the database. If that is the case, the backup will not contain the theme files. You need a file backup in addition to the database backup to be able to perform a full restore.

You can download a fresh copy of your theme and upload it to the themes folder by FTP. If your theme has been customised from the release version, ask your hosting company about whether it is possible to restore the theme files. They may be able to do this, however if they can they may charge you to perform the restore.
